Ever since I was a young child I lived with my African-American cousin. I never really noticed the difference in our skin color, and when I did notice it didn't make a difference to me. He was still my brother. When I got older I learned that some people would discriminate against my cousin just because of his skin color. This outraged me and made me very angry. I thought, "how could anyone not like somebody because of what they looked like?". I felt if an individual you knew personally and very well you would be aloud to not like them but you could not base this one person or what you hear on the news on a certain group of people, no-one is exactly the same. I feel the same way about racial stereotypes. There are many ridicoulous and insulting racial stereotypes in the world. Such as Mexicans are lazy or can run fast or jump high. This may be true for certain individuals but my cousin is Mexican and he can't jump high. Or like saying black people are bad or can dance well. My friend Dillan is a horrible dancer, it is funny to watch him dance. Or it could be like saying white people are rich, or smart. There are white people are stupid and/or poor. Stereotypes can make people feel left out if they are not even given the chance to do something but they are labeled that they can't do it because they or black,white,etc. A few years ago some jerks wrote racist comments on his driveway in chalk. They said many racist things about Mexicans(hes African-American but looks Mexicanish). When this had happened it made me very mad. I thought "how could people do that to him?" I thought about what had happened for a long time and how anyone could do that to someone. Since that had happened I have hated racism even more than previously and with all that's going on in this world it has just fueled the fire. Racism is a pointless thing that doesn't need to exist. I believe that most racists are idiots who think they are better than somebody because they have a different skin color. If you need the satisfaction of being better than somebody else then you should go try to do something with your life to be accomplished. I hope that if any racist reads this will have they're minds changed and will see the wrongness of discrimination and racism.
